How do I change the default GUI size of my Korneff Audio plugin?

If the plugin window opens too large (or too small) for your screen, you can set the default interface scale by editing a settings file.

Step 1 — Close your DAW. Make sure no instances of the plugin are running, or your changes may be overwritten when the plugin closes.

Step 2 — Locate the settings file.

  • Windows:
    C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\Korneff Audio\<Plugin Name>\GeneralSettings.xml

Tip: The AppData folder is hidden by default. Paste %APPDATA%\Korneff Audio into the File Explorer address bar to jump straight there.

  • macOS:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Korneff Audio/<Plugin Name>/GeneralSettings.xml

Tip: In Finder, press Cmd+Shift+G and paste ~/Library/Application Support/Korneff Audio.

  • Linux:
    ~/.config/Korneff Audio/<Plugin Name>/GeneralSettings.xml

Tip: The .config folder is hidden — press Ctrl+H in your file manager to show hidden files, or open it from a terminal.

Example (Windows): C:\Users\Dan\AppData\Roaming\Korneff Audio\Sound Techniques - Alpha Range Channel\GeneralSettings.xml

Step 3 — Edit the scale factor.
Open GeneralSettings.xml in any plain-text editor (Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on macOS, gedit/nano on Linux). You'll see a line like this:

<GLOBAL_SETTINGS DISK_MODE="0" SCALE_FACTOR="1.0" VOICE_AMOUNT_MULTIPLIER="2"
                 MIDI_CHANNELS="1" SAMPLES_FOUND="1" OPEN_GL="0"/>

Change SCALE_FACTOR="1.0" to your preferred value:

Value Result
1.0 100% (default)
0.85 85%
0.75 75%
0.5 50%

Step 4 — Save the file and reopen your DAW. The plugin will now open at the new size by default.

Troubleshooting

  • No change? Confirm you edited the file for the correct plugin (each Korneff plugin has its own folder) and that your DAW was fully closed when you saved.
  • Only edit the SCALE_FACTOR value — leave the rest of the line untouched.
  • macOS TextEdit users: make sure the file is saved as plain text, not rich text (Format → Make Plain Text).
  • If the file becomes corrupted, delete it; the plugin will regenerate it with default settings the next time it loads.
